Zoosk.com has really taken off. Well, taken off in terms of more members. Unfortunately, it hasn’t taken off in quality. And that’s quite disappointing. What started as a simple MySpace dating application has become a worthless classified personal ads dating site.
Our biggest issue with Zoosk.com is the direction the site has gone in. Back in the day, it was one of the many sites out there where fat chicks went to meet guys. But as time has gone on, the good classified personal ads sites have upgraded. They use the right marketing tactics to attract decent men and women. But sites like Zoosk.com do not.
Zoosk.com makes a lot of money. It’s a very profitable website. They have millions of members and an get dozens of companies to pay them big bucks to advertise on their site. That’s all fine and dandy. We’re glad they’re making money. It’s the American way, right? However, they need to do a better job of attracting decent members.
To answer the question why Zoosk.com didn’t make it into our best 3 classified personal ads sites, it’s mostly because of the inequality between men and women as compared to sites such as Xpress.com and Match.com. Zoosk.com is pretty much an online sausage fest. That site does a poor job of marketing towards women, and because of that us men suffer.
Zoosk.com: Our Results On Zoosk.com Over 3 months
- 270 email messages were sent to random women we hadn’t previously spoken to.
- 33 of those email messages were responded to by the women (please note: not EVERY response was genuine).
- 0 dates were set-up with different women between the 2 guys reviewing the website.
Let’s start off with the good news about our results on Zoosk.com since we’re positive people…
Okay, now let’s move on to the negatives! It wasn’t a good experience, to say the least. There just weren’t many chances to meet women. It wasn’t because of piss-poor effort. We tried. We worked the site just like every other. We spent a couple of hours each day for 3 months trying to flirt with girls. Our profile was solid, as were our emails.
We found out early on that a good profile and solid emails don’t make as much of a difference on Zoosk.com as they do on some other classified personal ads sites. Why don’t profiles make a difference on Zoosk.com? It’s not that they don’t make a different. But it’s really hard to stand out no matter what you do on a dating site with so many dudes and so few broads.
We ran into many problems along our 3-month Zoosk.com journey. The results speak for themselves. We failed trying, but we didn’t fail at trying. You will run into many of the same problems we had on Zoosk.com if you decide to join. You’ll feel like pulling your hair out many times. It gets very frustrating because no one seems to ever respond to emails.
Not one date was set-up in 3 months between 2 guys…not 1! We really don’t know why we didn’t just give up after a few weeks. It seemed pointless to keep trying. Hardly anyone was emailing us back and those that did were like bricks to talk to. Very dull, pointless conversations…ALL of them. We tried to flirt but the girls just weren’t biting.
Zoosk.com: What We Hated About Zoosk.com
We demand a lot out of classified personal ads sites because you deserve the best. We wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t. Sure, we could just start recommending 50 different sites to you like other online dating review sites do, but we wouldn’t be providing you with a TRUE service. Zoosk.com is a site that we simply cannot recommend to you for the following reasons…
- The site is overrun by men (where the ladies at!?)
- Hard to decipher between the women that are just looking for a hookup and the ones looking for a relationship
- Unfriendly customer service team (very rude messages they’ll send if you give them constructive criticism)
- Women automatically assume you’re a pervert, regardless of the type of message you send because 90% of the other guys on Zoosk.com are total pervs
- Most importantly…you can’t get dates very easily
Zoosk.com Review: Is Zoosk.com Any Good?
Zoosk.com is one of those dating sites that are falling apart. Yes, they’re continuing to grow in terms of number of members. But that’s only because it’s been around for so long. Quality singles are NOT using Zoosk.com. They’re using better classified personal ads sites such as Xpress.com, Match.com, and eHarmony.com. They’re no less expensive overall and they’re better quality.
Let’s take a site like Xpress.com for example. That site isn’t as old as Zoosk.com. If you ask old-school online daters what they think of Xpress.com, their answer would probably be “Xpress dot who?” But recently, Xpress.com has really taken off. They sat back, did their research on what men and women look for in a dating site and then built the perfect (okay, almost perfect) platform for it. We know that site is only going to get bigger and better. You should check it out…and also make sure you check out our review of our experience on Xpress.com to learn more about that amazing classified personal ads website.
