We’re not really sure why, but for some reason we expected big things out of LavaLife.com. We checked out a few reviews of the site, some were bad and some were good. We don’t put a lot of stock into what those review sites say about certain classified personal ads websites because we know they’re biased. But we still like to read them.
One of our team members used LavaLife.com a few years back and felt the experience was decent. Not great, but decent. He used it for a month and was able to get a date with a decent looking girl in that time period. A few years later, he tried it again and was dissatisfied with the direction LavaLife.com has taken. To quote him, “is this even the same site?”
LavaLife.com isn’t the same site it once was (not that it was ever that great). The only thing that has remained the same is the domain. Everything else is a complete overhaul for the bad. LavaLife.com has gone from an okay dating site to a place that probably won’t even be around in a couple of years. Eventually, people will stop paying for this site and they’ll go out of business. It sure would be a shame to see LavaLife.com flame out (sarcasm).
Okay, so let’s answer the original question. To be blunt, it’s a horrible site. You can’t even compare this to, say, Xpress.com. It’s night and day. Nor does it compare favorably to our #3 ranked site – eHarmony.com. Therefore, it’s not in our list of 3 best classified personal ads sites.
LavaLife.com: Our Results On LavaLife.com Over 3 months
- 270 email messages were sent to random women we hadn’t previously spoken to.
- 31 of those email messages were responded to by the women (please note: not EVERY response was genuine).
- 0 dates were set-up with different women between the 2 guys reviewing the website.
Using LavaLife.com was like pulling teeth. It was a painful experience from day 1 until day 90. When our membership concluded it was a sigh of relief. Okay, let’s go over those miserable 90 days. On day 1 we created a profile and began searching for women. Both of the guys using LavaLife.com were immediately disappointed with the quality of women in their towns.
There were some good looking girls on there but most of them hadn’t logged into the site for a while. And because of that we were unable to have much success getting responses. Many of the emails we sent were to women that hadn’t logged onto LavaLife.com in days, if not weeks. What does that mean? It means they’ve either stopped paying for the site or just plain no longer using it anymore. Maybe they met someone or maybe they just gave up on LavaLife.com (we wouldn’t blame them).
Or, perhaps they’ve been busy. Whatever the reason for their inactivity is completely irrelevant to us. All we know is they’re not using the site. Therefore, we have no way of meeting them. And that’s all that matters. So why did we send emails to women that were inactive on LavaLife.com? We had no choice. It was either settle for some of the nastiest women we’ve ever seen or take a chance and hope to get a response from a woman that hadn’t logged on for a few weeks. We chose the latter and obviously the results were due to making that decision. But we stand behind the decision. We don’t want to date nasty chicks!
LavaLife.com: What We Hated About LavaLife.com
You better sit down for this one. Go grab a soda and some popcorn because we’ve got a lot to talk about! LavaLife.com has a lot of work to do if they’re going to get back to what they once were. Not that it was ever that great of a site. But at least it was decent enough for us to give it some props. As it stands right now (and probably for good), there’s nothing good to say.
The first thing that stood out to us about LavaLife.com was….sad to say…the women just didn’t meet our standards. Yeah, it’s kind of shallow. And, no, looks aren’t everything. But let’s be honest here…no one wants to date a hideous looking chick. And if you think that’s all you can get that’s all you will get. But if you trust what we teach you in our dating guide, you’ll do far better than an ugly girl.
Don’t get your hopes up expecting to meet a decent girl on LavaLife.com. We’re not just talking about looks. The personalities of the women on that site leave a lot to be desired. The few conversations we had were very boring and didn’t get anywhere. And when we looked through different profiles, there wasn’t much substance to them. We got the impression right off the bat from their profiles that they were boring, stuckup chicks. That was confirmed once we started speaking to them. Other things we didn’t like about LavaLife.com included…
- The one girl one of our guys was about to get a date with informed him that she had herpes. No joke. She busted out with, “oh yeah just wanted to be upfront with you that I have herpes. Can we still get together?”
- Some of our email messages didn’t go through right away. Perhaps it was some sort of programming glitch?
- No one at LavaLife.com ever gave us an explanation as to why there were so many fake profiles.
LavaLife.com Review: Is LavaLife.com Any Good?
When using LavaLife.com, we never really felt like they cared about their customers. And that’s very disappointing. That’s not a good way to run a business. They’re not improving as time goes on…they’re declining. Match.com has been around since the early days of online dating but they’re running their business a completely different way…
On Match.com, you’ll find a modern website built to attract some of the best singles. But, of course, our favorite classified personal ads site is Xpress.com. Ditch LavaLife.com and test out Xpress.com for a couple of months. You won’t regret it. We sure as hell didn’t!
